When taking a do-it-yourself approach at things, it is perfectly normal to feel a little anxious. The same thing goes when you are trying acne treatments . Thoughts that could be running through your head could include, “how sure am I that this solution would work for me?”

The truth however is that you are risking more when you are buying brand-name anti-acne treatments. Why? For one, you are spending a considerable amount of money to do it. Another thing is that most of these treatments use strong chemicals, which could be harmful to your skin.

With that in mind, there are some home acne treatments you can try. They are relatively mild and safe, so you don’t have to worry about trying them out.

  1. Egg white. Eggs are probably some of the most common things found in most people’s fridges. That said, you wouldn’t have any problems trying out this one. Simply apply egg whites on your skin, let it stay for 15-20 minutes, and then wash it off. A lot of people swear by this, so it is definitely worth trying out.
  2. Fresh garlic. Your acne hates garlic as much your favorite vampires on movies and on TV. You may hate its smell too, but there’s no denying the antiseptic powers of fresh garlic when you apply it to your acne.
  3. Sugar. A mix of a tablespoon of brown sugar and two tablespoons of white sugar can be an effective way to treat acne as well. Simply wet the mixture a bit before applying it to your skin. It can be sticky and uncomfortable, but all that’s worth it in the end.

There you have it, some of the cheap yet effective home acne treatments you can try. See? Dealing with your acne doesn’t have to be super expensive to be effective.
