What You Need to Know About Acne and the Seasons

Posted By: admin Posted In: Acne Products, Uncategorized Date Posted: October 15th, 2010

You may not be aware of it, but seasons of the year also have a huge effect on your skin and acne. That is because when the season changes, your skin reacts to it accordingly to keep you cool and comfortable. Overall, that is a good thing. However, if the season gets crazy and you do not protect your skin, then, acne problems could develop.

That is why we have written this article for you. We will show you how extreme seasons can affect your skin and, then, cause acne. So if you are ready, then, read on.

Acne and Summer

Summer– when you hear that word, you often conjure up images of the beach and relaxation. What you might not know is that your skin also tends to produce excess sweat and sebum during this period. And when this happens, acne problems may, then, develop. The excess sebum in particular could accumulate on your pores, clog them, and, then, cause acne.

What should you do, then? One way is to wipe your face regularly to prevent sebum from accumulating on your pores. And when you have the chance, you should also wash your face at least twice a day. This would also help get rid of the excess sebum and dead skin cells on your skin.

Acne and Winter

As if acne and summer weren’t enough, you also need to deal with acne during winter. At this time of the year, the extreme cold could leave your skin dry, flaky and lifeless. With dry skin, more dead skin cells will be created than usual, which could, then, settle on your pores and yes, lead to an acne breakout.

So, when you are suffering from acne during the winter, you should always remember to moisturize your skin. It will help prevent the flakiness and keep dead skin cells off your skin. The result would, then, be a supple, acne-free skin.

You can also take an extra precaution by covering your face whenever you got out. The dry air is your enemy during winter since it is the one responsible for drying out your skin. A scarf would help. Better yet, do not get out of your house unless you really need to. And if you do, make sure you moisturize your skin sufficiently.

Lack of sufficient water in your body could also contribute to an acne breakout whether it is summer or winter. So, make sure you hydrate your body regularly, by drinking at least 3 liters of water every day. You may have to drink more during summer since you tend sweat profusely and, thus, lose a lot of water in your body at that time of the year.

There you have it, everything you need to know about acne and the seasons. Since they arrive at particular times of the year, it is very easy to make the necessary preparations beforehand. Now you do not have to worry about getting acne, be it summer or winter.
