Many acne sufferers are afraid to wear makeup because they think it will make their acne worse. Makeup is a beautiful thing but it is usually the last thing someone wants to put on their skin because they want their pores to breathe and heal. Others who suffer with acne refuse to leave their homes without makeup because they’re so embarrassed but what’s going on with their skin. Perhaps you had clear skin and the makeup you started to use made you breakout and now you’re scared to try anything else! Don’t be discouraged. There are just simple rules that need to be followed along with a few trials and errors but you will eventually find the best makeup for your skin.
It’s horrific hearing about how long some of you keep your makeup, years sometimes, and continue to use it! Old makeup is a breeding ground for bacteria and germs and can cause you severe acne. Check out these tips to minimize breakouts by staying up-to-date with your makeup stash!
We at Acne Skin Site don’t get it. We see and hear time and time again of those of you who wear makeup rarely clean your brushes and cosmetic tools! How can this be??? There are so many germs and bacteria that linger in your brushes the longer you go without cleaning them. Think about it: You apply your makeup in the morning (hopefully to a clean face), then you touch your skin during the day (with not always clean hands and cell phones, etc), and then you re-apply or touch-up your makeup or blot away oils with powders and such probably more than once a day. It’s a vicious cycle. You should honestly clean your brushes once a week, and if that is too much for you, at least once every two weeks then.
