Acne can be quite a nuisance causing you to feel insecure and self-conscious in certain social settings. To fight acne, you can sometimes depend on certain over-the-counter products that work well, but finding the right acne treatment is not always an easy task. There are several healthy and natural ways to get rid of acne, however the best method for you may not be the best method for another person. Every person has different types of skin and different skin issues so homemade remedies are dependent upon what your skin type is.
It is true that acne is most common in teenagers, though it can appear at any time in a person’s life. Acne breakouts can appear on your face, neck, back, shoulders, chest, and buttocks. Acne treatments like topical ointments and oral medications are able to kill the acne-causing bacteria which can cause one’s skin to break out.
Below are a variety of natural homemade remedies to try which remove impurities gently from your pores and minimize the appearance of acne scars.
Home Remedies for Acne
Yogurt and Oatmeal – Combine organic plain yogurt & organic raw rolled oats until you have a thick paste then apply on your freshly cleansed face as a face mask and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water & pat your face dry with a soft towel. Then apply an oil-free moisturizer to retain needed moisture and follow by applying a topical acne cream for spot treatment. This face mask will gently exfoliate dead skin cells from your face, allowing new fresh skin to surface. It will also hydrate dry skin, leaving your skin glowing and radiant.
Pure Aloe Vera Gel – Aloe Vera is an amazing treatment for clearing acne and reducing acne scars. Conventionally known to heal burnt skin, it can also reduce inflamed and irritated skin due to acne breakouts. Apply pure Aloe Vera gel to the affected areas of your skin at night after cleansing your skin and leave it on while you sleep. You will see a noticeable difference in a very short time.
Sugar – To remove dead skin cells that are dry, flaky, and cause your pores to become clogged with impurities that cause acne, exfoliate your skin at least 3 times a week with a homemade sugar scrub. Mix organic brown sugar or organic cane sugar with about 2 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and gently massage it on your freshly cleansed face and neck in a circular motion with your fingertips for about 2 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water and gently pat dry with a soft hand towel. Then apply an oil-free moisturizer to retain needed moisture in the skin.
Papaya – Papain, found in papaya, is an excellent exfoliator for removing dead skin cells. It is also rich in Vitamin A and helps fight acne. Mash organic papaya and plain organic yogurt together then let it chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Apply the mixture to your clean face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then rinse your face with warm water and gently pat dry with a soft towel and apply an oil-free moisturizer.
Lime Juice or Lemon Juice – Use organic fresh-squeezed lime or lemon juice as a toner on your skin after cleansing and before moisturizing. Both juices work as natural astringents to fight acne, even skin tone, and regulate oil that surfaces to the skin so you won’t be as oily during the day. Simply squeeze a few drops of either juice in a bowl, dip a clean cotton ball in it then apply to your skin.
Tomato Paste
Apply fresh tomato juice directly to your pimples as a spot treatment after cleansing your face and before moisturizing your skin. Let it stand for an hour and then rinse off with warm water. Then apply an oil-free moisturizer. Tomato juice will act as a natural astringent on your skin, kill acne, fight oil, and reduce inflammation and irritation due to acne.
Fresh Mint Juice – Fresh mint juice on your pimples every night after cleansing and moisturizing your skin will help you get rid of them fast. Use it as a spot treatment and after just a few times using this method, you will notice a dramatic change in your complexion-beautifully clean and clear.
Wheat Grass Juice – Get your daily dose of wheat grass juice to get rid of acne and to prevent pimples. Juicing healthy organic greens has proven to be incredibly effective at fighting acne while leaving skin beautifully clear and the body incredibly healthy. Take a shot of wheat grass every morning to allow all the nutrients to flush your system of dangerous toxins that can affect your skin. Start from within and it will show through your skin and overall health.
