3 Helpful Tips on Getting Rid of Acne for Good

So you want to get rid of acne forever? We understand how you feel. It can be difficult and sometimes downright embarrassing to deal with something that’s literally all over your face. What’s worse is that if left untreated, acne could leave your face scarred for life. You’ll be reminded of it every day, each time you look at yourself at the mirror.

It’s not easy to get rid of acne forever. Of course, there are treatments that help remove acne. However, they are often short term solutions and you can almost certainly expect another acne breakout once you stop receiving treatments.

What you need to do then is to take an overall approach in your fight against acne. It means that you should cover practically all areas of your life that could cause acne and therefore stop it forever. There isn’t one single approach that would end your acne problems. The truth is that you need to combine several approaches to do it. Here are a few of them:

1. Wash your face regularly. This should be your first line of defense against acne. If you know what causes acne, then you’ll immediately understand the benefits of this simple habit. Acne is caused by the buildup of oil, dead skin cells, and acne-causing bacteria in your hair follicles. Washing your face twice a day, morning and night, removes these impurities that clog the follicles and cause acne. See, it’s that simple, and yet it will have major effects in your fight against acne.

2. Eat healthy. While not all dermatologists agree, there are studies which suggest that there are certain types of food that cause acne. While chocolate has since been removed from the list of acne-causing foods, some studies show that milk and processed foods high in sugar and fat can cause acne. So if you want to get rid of acne once and for all, you’ll need to take a closer look at the food you take in. Eat healthy and look and feel better. You can never get wrong with that. Not only will you prevent acne with the right diet, but also other potential diseases.

3. Regulate your hormones. Hormonal imbalances could also cause acne. Acne can occur when there’s an overproduction of the hormone called androgen. With excessive levels of androgen, your body is going to produce excess oils which in turn clog up your hair follicles. As you already read above, clogged pores are a potent recipe for acne breakouts.

When you regulate your hormones you’ll be able to get to the root of one of the major causes of acne. But how do you do this? For women, the use of oral contraceptives could help curb hormonal imbalances. You could also choose to detoxify your body through eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water, and regular exercise.

These three things go hand in hand in getting rid of your acne problems forever. These activities go from the surface level of the problem (cleansing your face) to the root causes (your diet and hormones). Combine them and you can be hopeful for an acne-free face for the rest of your life!
