Titanium dioxide is found in many products we use on a daily basis including our food, paint products, even in cosmetics. It is also found in many sunscreens. This chemical is one of the top 50 chemicals produced worldwide yet many don’t even think twice to check if it’s safe to come in contact with on a daily basis. Titanium dioxide is a naturally made mineral found in two forms, rutile and anatase. Titanium is pure within these forms but has impurities around it so it needs to be chemically processed to remove all impurities leaving it odorless and able to absorb other elements. The question is, is it carcinogenic?
