There are literally thousands of facial cleansers on the market. No wonder it’s impossible to find the best one for your skin type and skin issue. Many people try a cleanser that has worked best for their friend, sister, brother, friend of a friend, etc. Recommendations can be great but not always. Why? The truth is a cleanser that works well for one person doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to work well for another person. Each of us is different. We all have different makeups of hormones and genetics in addition to having different skin types, different lifestyles, different environments that we live in… the list goes on and on. Some people only want to use natural homemade cleansers, others want a cleanser and exfoliating treatment in one, others like gentle cleansers that won’t irritate their sensitive skin. Below we have listed some of our favorite cleansers and a brief description of each of them. We hope this helps you find the cleanser that works best for you so that you can feel confident… in your skin.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser – If you are a regular reader of our blogs, this is not the first time you’ve heard us recommend Cetaphil. It’s an incredible cleanser that is recommended by dermatologists all across the globe because it works. And it works on the most sensitive of skin. It is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic which is important for anyone who deals with acne. It is so gentle that they guarantee that this cleanser will not strip your skin of the protective oils or emollients in your skin that are vital to maintaining good hydration and it will balance the pH levels of your skin. As gentle as it is, it will work effectively to remove all residue, makeup, and acne-causing bacteria from your skin. Children, teenagers, and adults can all use Cetaphil as it is gentle enough for the most delicate of skin. Your skin will feel incredibly soft after cleansing as well. They also have a cleanser made for anyone with oily skin and also offer body wash for those who suffer with body acne. Visit their website for my details.
Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Scrub – This cleanser typically sells out very quickly due to its popularity. This cleanser cleanses and exfoliates the skin in one step, making it ideal for those who don’t want to spend more time than needed on caring for their skin. All residue including makeup, oil, and acne-causing bacteria are washed away while cellular buildup (dead skin cells) are gently sloughed away by the tiny microbeads found within the cleanser. This cleanser is soap-free, oil-free, and non-comedogenic. Nothing in this cleanser will clog your pores or cause you to breakout more as long as you are not allergic to any of the ingredients.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub – This cleanser is amazing! If you are looking for a gentle yet powerful cleanser and exfoliator in one, this may be your dream skincare product! It’s gentle enough to use twice a day and will cleanse your skin of bacteria, oil, and residue while gently exfoliating away dead skin cells so your pores will unclog. This cleanser contains MicroClear, which is clinically shown to remove acne by unclogging pores of deeply embedded impurities. It will leave your skin feeling clean, soft, and incredibly healthy.
Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash – Honestly, any cleanser or skincare product you use from Dermalogica is simply amazing. Their products are gentle, effective, and contain many natural ingredients to heal and protect skin from further damage. That being said, if you suffer from acne-prone skin, this cleanser is wonderful. It is a bit more expensive than the cleansers listed above but it is on another level. This foaming cleanser removes oil and acne-causing bacteria and gently sloughs away cellular buildup with salicylic acid. Pores become unclogged and deeply embedded impurities are removed that are the main culprit of pimples. There are no artificial colors or fragrance added to the cleanser. A little cleanser goes a long way so you should be able to use this product for 3 months or so before needing to purchase more.
As important as it is to cleanse your skin, it’s just as important to moisturize as well. Make sure that you cleanse your skin twice a day, but no more than three times a day, and follow with an oil-free moisturizer to maintain proper moisture and pH levels in your skin. If you don’t moisturize, your skin will become oily and more acne breakouts will form. Make sure to cleanse and moisturize your neck every time you cleanse and moisturize your face because the skin on your neck is very delicate and needs tender loving care as well. Good luck and happy cleansing!
My wife was pregnant with bad acne, she Googled “Best Pregnant Acne Treatment” and #1 on the list was from Sweden LEROSETT. Her acne was gone in weeks and she still uses it. I bought it for her, it was the only acne system I could find that gave you a choice medicated or non medicated, had hundreds of spas and medical clinics using it and it was actually organic and vegan. All and I mean every acne treatment I saw was just water and benzoyl peroxide or water and salicylic acid. Only lerosett was based on real hydroponic aloe and organic clay. Its the only skin care line she will use now.
This is the best acne site I have come across! It is totally jam packed with content wow! I would love to see more.
Jenny 🙂

If you have acne just get a bottle of Advil gel caps and all you do is poke a hole in the gel cap and squeeze some of the Advil gel on your acne and it is like magic ..Your acne will go away and stay gone and you will have a beautiful face..
Somehow face washes just made my skin dry and flaky. I switched to OCM and my skin has never been better.
