face mask

Ingredients:

1 Organic Ripe Banana (or slightly overly ripe)

1 Organic Orange or Lemon

1 Tablespoon of Raw Organic Honey

Prep:

Mash a banana in a mixing bowl until you have a smooth consistency with no chunks. Squeeze a few drops of juice from an orange or lemon into the bowl with banana. Pour in the honey and mix together until you have a smooth blended consistency. Apply the face mask to your face and neck and leave it on for 15 – 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and a soft washcloth then pat dry with a soft hand towel. Apply an oil-free moisturizer to retain moisture and hydration in the skin.

Benefits:

Bananas are beneficial in fighting acne and are not known to irritate the skin so even those of you with the most sensitive of skin should be able to use this mask without any side effects. Bananas are rich in potassium, which when applied directly to the skin, will suffocate the bacteria in cells, forcing blemishes to heal and disappear more quickly. Bananas have many anti-bacterial properties which can reduce swelling and infections from other skin issues, including Psoriasis, Eczema, and even painful bug bites. You can even rub the peel of the banana on your skin for these types of skin conditions and it will help soothe your skin tremendously.

Bananas are also loaded with Vitamin C and other antioxidants which when applied to the skin (even the peel), can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Blood flow will circulate better and collagen production is boosted. Your skin will appear fresher and more youthful – naturally!

Honey is a wonderful antioxidant proven to help reduce impurities from the skin and help battle mild acne. It also helps restore the skin’s texture due to its antimicrobial properties, and will help repair skin damage from the sun and daily environments. Honey is also loaded with antibacterial properties and will fight acne gently but effectively. Acne-causing bacteria, excess oil, and dead skin cells clog the pores and honey works to gently pull these impurities from the pores.

A few drops of juice from an orange or lemon will help with minimizing oils and also refresh your skin! Oranges and lemons are natural astringents so they are safe to use on the skin. These citrus juices can also even out your skin tone if you suffer from unevenness or blotchy skin.

I’ve go psoriasis around my nose and i rubbed the banana peel over the dry area and it calmed it down straight away. I’ve also made a natural face mask everyday from this website and in 1 week my skin is looking vibrant and clearer.

I’ve tried the Strawberry Cream and the Apple Honey Mask. I thought they were fantastic. I didn’t have any banana’s that day to make the Strawberry Cream mask, but used all the other ingredients and thought it worked really well.

I tried it. It feels good. But can you save the rest for another day? But you know how the banana gets all brown and mushy when you save it like that … But is it still good for the skin and does it still contain all the nutrients?
