Ingredients:
2-3 Oranges
2 Tablespoons Whole Milk
Prep:
Peel the oranges and eat the flesh or squeeze them to make fresh orange juice! The orange peels are what’s needed for this face mask. Lay the peels on a kitchen towel or paper towel between 24 to 48 hours. You can also lay the peels in the sun to dry out more quickly. Once dried, crush the peels in a mixing bowl with the back of a large spoon. Once the orange peels are turned into a powder, sift the peels through a sifter and dispose of any larger pieces of peel left behind. Use 2 tablespoons of orange peel powder and put into a mixing bowl. Save the remaining peel powder in an air-tight container or Zip-lock bag to use at a later time. Pour in 2 tablespoons of whole milk into the mixing bowl and mix the two ingredients together until you have a good paste. Feel free to add a couple additional tablespoons of each ingredient if you want to make more paste to apply to your face and neck at that time. Apply the face mask to your clean face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave on your skin for 30 minutes then rinse off with warm water and a soft washcloth. Gently pat your skin dry with a hand towel and apply an oil-free moisturizer to retain needed moisture.
Benefits:
This mask is wonderful for anyone who suffers from oily skin. The orange peels soak up excess oil and bacteria from your pores, in turn minimizing acne breakouts. The orange peel powder is a gentle exfoliator for your skin as well, gently sloughing away dead skin cells (cellular build-up) that clog your pores. Your skin will feel healthier and look refreshed and glowing as well.
Milk is great for your skin because it will leave your skin glowing due to the low amount of acidity in it, which will restore your natural pH balance. It’s also great for adding hydration to the skin and is great for soothing sunburns or irritated skin.
