Banana Almond Smoothie

Ingredients:

9 organic bananas

½ cup organic spinach

1 T raw almond butter

16 oz. filtered cold water

Prep:

Blend all the ingredients in the blender until smooth and creamy, then pour into 3-4 large glasses, and sip away that bad skin and say hello to clear beautiful skin and overall amazing health!

Benefits:

Bananas are rich in potassium and Vitamin C and are known to improve digestion, allowing the body to break down food and rid the body of stomach problems. Make sure they are brown and spotty because ripe bananas digest better in your body and are so much sweeter as well. Feel free to freeze unpeeled ripe bananas to add to your smoothies to give your smoothie a more frothy “milkshake” consistency. Bananas will improve the texture of your skin and help in making your skin pimple-free! I, Lindsay Tosto, recommend adding at least 6 bananas into a daily smoothie if not more (like 9 bananas in this smoothie) because bananas are simply amazing for you and are low in fat but high in good calories.

Raw almond butter contains a high level of Vitamin E. Vitamin E is known to repair skin from sun damage, scarring from acne, and also will aid in minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. The antioxidants in almonds also help fight off free radicals, fighting bacteria that cause acne. The oil in almond butter will also hydrate dry skin and make your hair look shinier and healthier. It is a good healthy fat oil so don’t be scared of it!

Spinach is rich in calcium in addition to loads of other antioxidants and vitamins like Vitamin K, protein, iron, Vitamins A and C, Niacin, Thiamin, among several others and will really improve your overall health. Eating spinach with every meal helps your food to digest better in turn giving you clearer skin since your body will release waste more rapidly throughout the day. Your skin will appear more youthful as spinach will help to reverse sun damage on your skin. Amazing!

Adding filtered water to your smoothie will help to hydrate your skin, flush out toxins more quickly, and will make your skin become more moisturized and fresh. Hydrated skin looks radiant and glowing so make sure to add filtered water to your daily smoothie and drink at least 8 additional glasses of filtered water throughout the day! Hydration is key to overall health and clear glowing skin.
