Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are all the rage lately. But they have been around for centuries, having been a staple in the diet of Native American people. When mixed with water, it turns into a gel-like consistency, making it easy to settle in your stomach and keep you feeling full for hours. So what are all the health benefits of eating chia seeds? Read along…

1. As stated before, Chia seeds fill up your belly gently without leaving you feeling heavy, bloated, or uncomfortable. Simply mix a tablespoon or two with water until you form a gel, and drink it up! Or pour some in a juice or smoothie and enjoy!

2. Your skin, hair, and nails will look amazing after adding chia seeds to your diet. Chia seeds are packed with essential fatty acids like omega-3 and omega-6 oils that will make your skin glow like never before!

3. Chia seeds will help you stay hydrated longer, leaving your skin beautifully moisturized. Chia seeds can absorb 9 times its volume in water or other liquid drinks like juice or Gatorade (that has electrolytes in it) so it’s ideal to add to your diet if you exercise regularly or are a high-endurance athlete.

4. They help stabilize your blood sugar levels due to its slow digestion period, so it can prevent diabetes. Increases of sugar also cause your skin to breakout so minimize sugar in your diet and add chia seeds instead!

5. The essential fatty acids in chia seeds (chia gel when mixed in water) helps the body absorb other essential vitamins like Vitamins A, D, E, and K. All of these vitamins are vital to keeping your skin looking and feeling amazing while your overall health will improve.

6. Your digestion will be better which means you will remove dangerous toxins from your body more quickly if you add chia seeds to your diet daily. Simply mix 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds with water or another healthy liquid for easiest consumption and digestion.

Now that you know some of the amazing benefits of chia seeds, it is time to add them to your daily diet. You will be amazed by the results and a little goes a long way. You will have less bloating in your stomach while your skin will look clear and radiant.
