Dark under eye circles are frustrating to anyone that has them. Dark circles can be a sign of lack of sleep, illness, lack of essential vitamins, or dehydration. But can fatty foods also be blamed for dark circles under your eyes? Let’s delve into this question and see if it’s true.
We know fatty foods are not good in our daily diets. Fatty foods, also known as “junk food,” are high in saturated fats, trans fats, calories, and sometimes sodium and sugar. Fatty foods should never be eaten, unless in moderation every now and then. Fatty foods do not have really any essential vitamins required to maintain a healthy mind and body, so of course they can contribute to dark under eye circles if fatty foods are a part of your main diet. You are lacking many important vitamins for your good health.
To prevent dark circles, here are some tips to help you have brighter under eyes:
1. Get more sleep. 8 hours minimum is required nightly.
2. Don’t smoke or drink an excess of alcoholic beverages.
3. Eat a healthy and balanced diet of fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole wheat foods.
4. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
5. Add Vitamin C, D, and K to your daily diet.
6. Use an eye cream morning and night, especially beneficial is one with light diffusers to brighten the under eye area.
7. Decrease foods high in saturated fats, calories, sugar, and sodium.
Follow these tips and you are well on your way to looking better. Dark eye circles age you and make you look sick and tired so make this the year to look and feel your best…starting with your eyes!
