Green Tea and Acne

Do you struggle every day to keep your skin clean, clear, and healthy? Do you buy products in the store that are cheap and advertised to give you the best results for your skin? Well, I guess most of us do. Since we are bombarded by commercials and advertisements telling us that all these different skin care products are what our skin needs. But the question is, are chemically-processed skin care products the answer to what we need to keep our skin healthy?

Our skin is the largest organ of our body, protecting our internal organs from harm. It plays a pivotal role in helping us to live healthy lives. With unhealthy skin, we are affected physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Keeping our skin healthy should be a top priority. With chemical-based skincare products, we are not sure of its true effects on our skin, what ingredients they possess, and what those contents really do to our skin and overall health. Though one thing is certain, chemically produced skincare products are not at all good for us for long-term use.

Synthetic skincare products and skin remedies are not at all helpful to keep your skin healthy and young for a long period of time. Skin remedies that are natural and organic are good for all types of skin, as long as one does not have severe allergies to certain ingredients. Natural remedies are the best for the skin since they are designed to work with our bodies – naturally.

Green tea is an example of a natural skin remedy that is good for the skin. It has polyphenols, an antioxidant that gives green tea an anti- acne fighting power. Polyphenols have natural compounds that are anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic in skin, which helps modulate inflammatory responses of the skin. Green tea protects and heals the skin from sun damage, decreases the signs of aging, and also treats inflammatory skin conditions.

Like Benzoyl Peroxide (synthetically made), green tea is found to be just as effective either taken orally or topically as a skin remedy. To make it work, it is advisable to drink green tea at least 3-4 cups a day to give optimum results for acne free skin. To apply it directly to the skin, a green tea bag is all you need. Simply use the damp tea bag which has been seeped then drained in your cup, and apply it directly to the acne or inflamed skin for about 20 minutes.

If you don’t like drinking green tea then try green tea capsules. Green tea capsules are easily available for those who don’t like the taste of green tea. Green tea not only promises to promote good skin, but also has amazing healing powers. Make sure to add this to your diet daily and you will notice amazing results in a short time.

Though, green tea stains your teeth, making it yellow! Remember to swish some water in your mouth a few times after drinking your cup of tea! 🙂 mouth wash will do the trick too
