Getting pimples is a complete bummer. No one wants them and they can be pretty painful. It can also be make you want not to leave your house or dorm room if the breakout gets bad enough. But no one should live their life hiding until their skin clears, much less be in pain while doing so! So stop now! Go out and enjoy life and don’t let your acne stop you! Before you head out the door, read the tips below to help clear your skin once and for all:
1. You MUST cleanse your face morning and night and follow with an oil-free moisturizer to hydrate your skin. We can’t say it enough. If you don’t use a moisturizer, your skin will break out more. If it’s oil-free, it won’t make you break out. So start using one today!
2. Exfoliate the dead, dry skin off your face 2-3 times a week. Do so with a gentle exfoliating scrub or make one at home. Combine a little granulated sugar with warm water and gently rub in a circular motion with your fingertips over your clean and damp face and neck for about 2 minutes. Rinse clean and pat dry. Moisturize your skin after. Ahhhh, we bet your skin feels amazing now!
3. Try a topical over-the-counter cream with benzoyl peroxide and apply before bed over your moisturizer (after you cleanse your skin clean). We recommend using this product at bedtime only because it tends to dry the skin out and can also bleach clothing and bedding. It’s important to use a moisturizer before applying this product and also to cleanse the product off your face in the morning and follow with an oil-free moisturizer since your skin will be dried out. But you will notice your skin clearing up in just a couple of weeks! Proactiv has a three-step skincare system that offers a topical cream with benzoyl peroxide in it so make sure to check it out. It may or may not be the right treatment for you.
4. If you use a benzoyl peroxide cream at bedtime like tip #3 above, only use white bedsheets and pillowcases because the cream can bleach colored bedding.
5. Change your pillowcases every couple of nights to help keep your pillow clean of germs and bacteria that can cause you to breakout more. Change your bed sheets every week.
6. Drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit and veggies. What you put into your body will show on the outside. So take care of yourself.
7. Taking care of yourself also includes working out. Get and stay fit and your skin will be able to breathe even better when you sweat out all those toxins out!
8. Love yourself. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You are an awesome and beautiful person regardless if your skin is acting up or not.
All of these articles are confusing me… Could you please make an article with like recommended brand named products… Like with specific instructions. That would be wonderful. And something I’m confused about is that in one article you say don’t use benzoyl peroxide cream and then in another article I read you say you should. Maybe it would help if you like made a quiz or something to lead the people with specific needs in the right direction. Maybe like question one
A.) do you have oily skin
B.) do you have dry skin…
Etc….
