Skin as Soft as a Baby’s Bum

Skin so soft, creamy, and smooth, void of any wrinkles or imperfections…where can anyone find that except on the bum of a baby?! Unfortunately, many of our daily activities and lifestyles have done quite a number on our skin, including going through puberty during the teenagers years with hormones raging and skin flaring up for no reason other than to make our lives miserable! But on a positive note, there are things you can do to keep the flare ups of acne to a minimum and to preserve that young skin.

As we’ve said time and time again at Acne Skin Site, cleanse your skin morning and night with a gentle cleanser! Allow your skin to breathe at night by removing any residue or bacteria your skin gathers during the day, even from just being in contact with the air! Clearing your pores of an excess of oils and bacteria will keep breakouts to a minimum for sure. It’s also very important to cleanse your face in the morning to remove any oils that come to the surface while you sleep or may gather on your skin from your hair and/or pillow.

Exfoliate your skin at least 3 times a week with a gentle exfoliating scrub or cleanser. Removing cellular build-up (dead skin) will allow your pores to breathe and will reduce pores getting clogged and trapped with bacteria, dirt, and oils. It will also allow new skin to surface, keeping your skin fresh and beautiful!

Moisturize your skin morning and night with an oil-free moisturizer to balance the pH levels of your skin. Not moisturizing will make you more oily throughout the day because your skin will pull an excess of oils to the surface, making you oily, thus increasing your chance of having more breakouts. Moisturizing will minimize breakouts and oily skin, believe it or not! Make sure to use a moisturizer with a minimum of SPF 15 during the day, winter or summer, to protect your skin from the serious damage skin can cause. You may not care not, but when you start seeing wrinkles in your 20’s and can possibly get diagnosed with skin cancer, you will wish you had re-thought your decision to use SPF protection.

Drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruits and veggies and healthy foods enriched with vitamins and nutrients to keep your skin looking fresh and clear!
