Your skin is itchy, dry, red, breaking out in pimples, scarring, and/or possibly a list of many other things. So why is this happening to you? This can be an especially irritating question if you are trying your hardest to take care of your skin and follow a proper skincare routine daily. So let’s delve into what can possibly be irritating your skin and hopefully in a short time, your skin will be on the road to recovery.

1. Are you cleansing your skin TOO much? If you are washing your face more than twice a day then you are washing too much! You should only be washing your face morning and night unless you have a mid-day workout – that is the only exception to needing to wash your face again! Over-cleansing can irritate your skin beyond measure and strip your skin of essential oils needed to protect your skin.

2. Make sure your skincare products and cosmetics don’t have fragrance. Fragrance is added to many products and can cause your skin to become inflamed, red, irritated, and break out. Check labels before buying and look for “Fragrance Free.”

3. Use oil-free and paraben-free skincare and makeup products. Oil added to products and chemicals added are not good for your skin – especially if you are sensitive. READ LABELS!

4. Your skin may be red and breaking out due to it being too dry. If you are not using a moisturizer for fear of breaking out or irritating your skin, then you are not taking care of your skin properly! Use an oil-free moisturizer or a drop of pure extra virgin olive oil on your skin to balance the pH levels of your skin and maintain moisture. If you don’t hydrate, your skin will be a hot mess. And you won’t break out or clog your pores using an oil-free moisturizer or extra virgin olive oil.

5. Use all-natural skincare products whenever you can. The more natural the ingredients, the better they are for your skin.

6. Don’t use tanning beds or expose your skin to too much sun during the day. This can dry your skin out more and cause you to develop skin cancer.

Follow these simple tips and your skin should start to look and feel better in no time. If your skin condition worsens, make an appointment to see your dermatologist. Don’t settle for irritated skin when there is help just around the corner! Good luck! We are here to help you!

Dear Nandhita, I had similar problem with yours. I had my first pimple in junior high school and it was getting worse. I had tried many drug store’s skin care products and nothing work.
first, I decide to go to dermatologist. They said my acne problem was because of unstable hormones and they need special treatment under dermatologist’s control.
Second, you need to go to doctor to check what things cause allergies. I have allergies on eggs and seafood. When I eat them, the pimples come up. I never knew that I intolerant to those things. I kept consuming them until I seriously affected with my other allergens.
Third, you need to maintain your health. when you’re not in good condition, it’s very easy for your skin affected by acne’s bacteria, and yes, allergens weakens your body defence, so avoid it.

I really wish that my suggestion could help you. And if there is another solution, your comments would help a lot. Thank you 🙂
