Protecting your skin is not something that is consciously thought of by most people on a daily basis. We go through our normal daily routine of getting cleaned up and exercising to take care of our bodies as a whole, but the skin has some pretty important functions that can be disrupted if we do not take care of it at a top level. Here are a few good reasons to protect your skin just like you should protect your body:
1. Your skin protects you! Your skin is the only armor you have from the day you are born until the day you die, unless you get a second job working as a knight. Make sure to protect your shields and keep them up and running in full working order.
2. Healthy and protected skin looks and feels younger. The more protection you offer your skin, the more it will help you when it comes to being able to continue doing things that people half your age are doing now.
3. Protected skin has the ability to filter out many of the toxins you come in contact with on a regular basis, whereas skin that is not protected is busy trying to keep itself safe instead of keeping the entire body safe.
4. If you don’t, there may be hidden problems that you won’t notice until it’s too late. The more you view and inspect your skin while you’re putting on sunscreen or even moisturizing lotion, the more closely you can keep an eye out for minor changes. The sooner you catch something that could potentially be harmful, the more likely it is going to be curable (like skin cancer!)
Keeping your skin healthy is much more important than most people realize because many people do not understand all of the functions that skin has for our bodies. The healthier our skin is, the healthier our bodies can stay. Taking a few minutes each day to ensure we are taking the best care of our skin and bodies that we can, is nothing compared to the countless minutes our skin takes each day to ensure that it is protecting us.
