The Truth About Conventional Acne Medications

When it comes to treating acne, many of us are more familiar with conventional treatments than the holistic ones – and for a couple good reasons. Conventional treatments are easily accessible, at least in the case of over-the-counter medications. They also come in a wide range of prices which gives patients many options depending on their budget.

That isn’t to say that holistic treatments aren’t easily accessible. It is just that many people don’t know that homemade remedies can actually cure many forms of acne.

Conventional Medicine

When we talk about conventional medicine, we mean acne treatments that are made using synthetic (manmade) materials. They are sold as alternatives to natural medications and manufacturers say that they work just as well or even better than natural cures. Why? This is simply because they have replicated the properties of the natural medications and can make a profit off of it.

Synthetic materials are not easily absorbed by the body and our bodies are designed to accept natural chemicals so we will definitely be more responsive to natural solutions than synthetic solutions. Many conventional medications merely mask the effects of the problem. It’s important to get to the root of the problem to properly mend what is happening on the skin.

There are also many side effects of conventional medications that one needs to be aware of. We assume that you have already tried one of the most common acne treatments, benzoyl peroxide topical cream. While it has been proven to be effective in removing acne from your skin, some people experience adverse reactions to it such as swelling, peeling and dryness of the skin. So, the question begs to be asked: What price are you willing to pay just to get rid of your acne?

What’s worse is that medications such as benzoyl peroxide will only deal with your current acne breakout. You will likely experience another breakout after a few weeks or so. So you are left dealing with an endless cycle of buying medications that never truly get rid of the acne problem.

When one is searching for a tried and true effective solution to one’s acne problem, nothing can compare with natural and holistic treatments. They are effectively absorbed by the body, which means they can help fight off acne for good. Natural treatments also get to the heart of the acne problem, solving the battle with acne once and for all. A healthy lifestyle that utilizes nature will heal your body from within and will exude through your skin. Cheers to good health!
